Elimination of static electricity by corona discharge

Corona discharge imageAny insulative material will be electrically charged by the friction or separation of materials. The combination of chemically different material can be positively or negatively charged according to the orders in the static propensity column. Once charged with static electricity the insulative materials such as plastics will hold the electricity (static). Unlike the conductive material the electricity stays on to attract the dust or lint in the environment without being neutralized by discharging by spark or corona.
Corona discharge will be generated if a fine conductive material nears without contacting to the surface of the charged body which is so small magnitude discharge unlike spark discharge and is considered safe not igniting the explosion.
